I am a trial attorney with extensive experience throughout New Hampshire. I thrive on forming strong relationships with my clients, negotiating favorable resolutions, and on advocating zealously in a courtroom.

I have represented numerous clients facing a lifetime of incarceration and I have had the privilege, many times over, of standing next to clients as they hear a jury come back with a verdict of not guilty. Prior to entering private practice, I worked for the New Hampshire Public Defender for more than a decade, where I provided representation to individuals who could not afford an attorney. When I transitioned from the New Hampshire Public Defender, I had handled more than 3,500 cases and was serving as the Director of Professional Development. As the Director I was an executive level supervisor for the largest private law firm in the State, with ten trial offices and over one hundred forty lawyers. I was also responsible for the recruitment, training, and performance of attorneys. I’m proud that the training program earned national recognition as one of the best in the country. Teaching trial skills is a personal passion of mine—it not only supports the development of others but also keeps my own skills sharp.

Being a successful advocate is more than just being an advocate in the courtroom. It is also about being a problem solver, a negotiator and a counselor. It is imperative that my clients have a thorough understanding of the paths forward and have everything needed to make informed decisions. This involves thinking outside of the box and coming up with creative solutions to a problem whenever possible. Being an advocate on treatment court teams and working with children in family court has taught me the importance of approaching a problem from multiple angles.

Decisions that my clients make are intimately personal and unique in each case. My job is for my clients to not feel judged, but instead to feel supported and confident in their representation. At my core I am an attorney because I enjoy getting to know people and helping them through difficult times.

On a personal note, I was born and raised in Northern New Hampshire. Since law school I have lived in Central New Hampshire and when I am not practicing law you can always find me spending time with my son, wife, and our two dogs. I also enjoy volunteering my time with a variety of boards and committees that enhance the New Hampshire legal community.
