Manchester, NH – Devine Millimet is pleased to announce that Thomas Quarles, Jr., Shareholder, has been named the 2023 recipient of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s (NHBA) Distinguished Service to the Profession award. He was presented with the honor last Friday night at the NHBA Annual Dinner held at the AC Marriott in Portsmouth, NH.
Attorney Quarles has been a litigator at Devine Millimet for over thirty-five years. During that time, Tom has distinguished himself as a fearless and relentless advocate on behalf of Devine’s clients. He also has an exemplary record of service to the public and the legal profession.
This includes his involvement as a member of the NHBA’s Client Indemnity Fund, used to compensate victims of lawyer theft, from 1990 until 1998, when the N.H. Supreme Court formalized the process and established the Public Protection Fund Committee. Since 2013, Tom has served as Chair of that committee. The New Hampshire Bar Association calls him “…a stalwart through the Bar in helping the legal profession reimburse proven claims of lawyer theft, helping to uphold the profession’s promise of integrity to clients.”
Back in 1998, Attorney Quarles was also the recipient of the NHBA’s Distinguished Service to the Public award. He is only the fifth individual to receive both awards.
