I’m a litigator. Whether your problem involves a probate controversy, a real estate dispute, or a serious criminal charge, I can guide you through it. I have tried dozens of cases in front of juries, judges and administrative boards.
I have been on both sides of the aisle in criminal cases. As a former felony prosecutor, I am familiar with how cases are investigated, charged, and presented to a grand jury. As a defense attorney, I learned how to identify—and exploit—the weakest aspects of the prosecution case, and simultaneously manage and mitigate the life-changing consequences of serious criminal charges, which often affect clients even if they are never convicted of any offense. I leverage my experience to provide my clients with highly effective representation at trial, but I know that litigation is inherently unpredictable; for this reason, I often negotiate resolutions for my clients so that they can move ahead with their lives. Even when a case resolves by agreement, it is imperative to have counsel that understands the issues that will likely arise at trial. This is the only way to meaningfully evaluate whether a particular resolution makes sense for you in your unique situation.
I am a native of the Monadnock Region, and returned to New Hampshire as soon as I graduated from law school. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and four children. We spend a lot of time rooting at youth sports events, but you can also find us skiing, hiking and kayaking in between soccer and basketball games. My wife, Mieko, and I are both members of the Japan Society of Boston, which affords me the opportunity to foster my decades’-long passion for Japanese language and literature.
