ANIMALS AND DIVORCE: WHO GETS THE DOG?

Effective August 24, 2019, New Hampshire divorce final decrees may include provisions about the care and ownerships of the parties’ animals, with consideration of the animal’s well-being.  Many New Hampshire practitioners have included such language in the past but now there is a statutory basis.
