The summer associate program at Devine Millimet is designed to expose law students who have completed their second year to a wide variety of legal concentrations and to experience the practice of the attorneys at Devine Millimet during the 10-week program. Summer associates have the opportunity to attend trials, depositions, mediations, closings, will signings and client conferences, while completing numerous legal research and writing and other projects for ongoing cases and clients. We hire summer associates based on the hiring needs for the following year to insure that each qualified summer associate is eligible to receive an offer for full-time employment after law school.

Summer associates are assigned an informal associate mentor who can provide guidance and insight into the practice of law at Devine Millimet. The Summer Associates Committee, which consists of several shareholders, solicits assignments from the attorneys, reviews all written work completed by the summer associates, and conducts two evaluations of each summer associate during the program.
