- Acting as counsel in connection with a civil antitrust investigation mounted by the federal Justice Department against a state-based provider.
- Representing the "acquired" institution in connection with the State's first full asset merger of two nonprofit hospitals.
- Acting as counsel to a group of charitable healthcare and educational organizations whose real estate tax exemption was challenged by a municipality.
- Acting as counsel to individual institutions, as well as an "obligated group" of a number of healthcare organizations in connection with the issuance of several hundred million dollars of tax-exempt bonds through the bonding authorities of three different states.
- Acting as counsel in the redesign of defined benefit pension plans, correction of operational errors and plan amendments.
- Provide guidance on corporate governance.
- Provide guidance for executive compensation and benefits.
- Advise on management of fiduciary issues associated with pension plans.
- Advise on compliance with Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements in policy development and third-party contracts.
- Assist hospitals in acquisition of local physician practices.
- Acting as counsel in establishing joint venture arrangements with physician groups.
- Assist hospital in physician compensation and recruitment.
- Provide risk management and quality assurance guidance on matters arising in day-to-day operations and rendering of medical services.
- Represent facilities and providers in the defense of medical malpractice actions.
- Provide advice and support to employers facing employee discipline and termination issues.
- Assist employers with preventative measures such as drafting and revising policies, procedures, and handbooks.
- Provide counsel and guidance in management of medical staff governance, disciplinary matters, and credentialing.
- Representation of employers in workers' compensation matters.
