 Our Educational legal team is comprised of attorneys with various backgrounds and vast experience. Litigation members have defended all levels of educational institutions on matters including premises liability, hazing, sexual assault, racial discrimination, wrongful discharge, fiduciary breach, personal injury, special education, and defamation claims. Our employment lawyers have represented schools before state and federal courts and regulatory bodies in claims involving negligent hiring, discrimination, wrongful discharge, and violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Corporate team members have addressed financing issues such as municipal bonds, and have provided real estate and transactional services.
Members of the Education Law Practice Group often conduct seminars and customized training programs for administrators, teachers and staff on such topics as secual misconduct, implications of suicide in the school environment, and student-teacher boundaries. The group regularly advises on the American Disabilities Act, hiring and firing, student discipline, free speech, and school searches.
