Biography

Jonathan Shirley is a member of the firm's Litigation Department, where he concentrates his practice on all forms of business disputes, from enforcing intellectual property rights and contractual obligations to resolving owner/shareholder conflicts and creditor/debtor matters. Jonathan serves clients ranging from industry leaders in high technology, finance and construction to entrepreneurs and start-up ventures.

Jonathan practices at all levels of the state and federal courts and has represented clients at every stage of litigation, from temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunction hearings to trial and appeals.

• Patent action to enforce owner's rights involving novel invention in field of residential fire sprinkler systems
• Non-competition/trade secret action to defend former employees against enforcement of overbroad and burdensome non-compete/non-disclosure agreement
• Copyright action to enforce owner's rights in architectural design under Architectural Works Copyright Protection Act
• Construction action to defend contractor against allegations of defective work and warranty breach
• Contract action to enforce landlord rights under commercial lease to evict tenant from high value commercial property
• Creditor action to pursue defaulting debtor for six-figure payment obligation and unwind fraudulent transfer of assets
• Minority shareholder action to recover damages arising from management breach of fiduciary duty
