Manchester, NH – Anne G. Scheer, a labor and employment attorney at Devine Millimet, will present three employment workshops for small businesses at the Amoskeag Business Incubator (abi) from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. located at 33 S. Commercial Street in Manchester.
- Wednesday, October 21, 2009: Wage/Hour Laws and Regulations: Do you have anyone working for you? Even if you are a one-person operation working out of your own living room you are required to meet all state and federal wage hour laws. Mistakes in this area, especially with employees paid commissions, are numerous, and can be very costly. Come learn the basics of how to avoid costly wage claims.
- Wednesday, November 4, 2009: Hiring/Discharge/Handbooks/Employee Contracts-At-Will Employment: Learn good hiring practices to grow your business and bottom line as well as avoid costly lawsuits.
- Wednesday, November 18, 2009: Leaves/Workplace Privacy/Workplace Violence: This workshop examines required and common practices for mandatory and optional leaves; employee privacy both at and outside of work; and best practices to avoid occurrences of or liability for violence in the workplace.
