Tom is a shareholder of the firm, focusing his litigation practice on health care, land use, environmental, securities, probate and ski defense matters. In the area of health care litigation, Tom has represented medical institutions and managed care organizations in antitrust, compliance and other litigation matters, as well as lobbying for managed care organizations before the New Hampshire Legislature. Tom also represents Medicaid-funded agencies and nursing homes on licensure, reimbursement and other compliance issues.
In the land use and environmental litigation area, Tom represents landowners and telecommunications companies before zoning and planning boards throughout New Hampshire, and has obtained approvals for telecommunications companies to site their tower facilities in New Hampshire. Tom also represents businesses and non-profit organizations in wetlands permitting, dam licensing and removal, shoreland protection and other water issues.
Tom also has expertise in litigating personal wealth and financial services matters such as individual investors' claims against brokerage firms and financial institutions. Tom also handles disputes over wills, trusts, fiduciary accountings and guardianships. Tom's representation of most of New Hampshire's ski areas is well known in the industry. He was the principal drafter of the 2005 amendments to the New Hampshire ski statute, RSA Ch. 225A.
